2013年度的臺灣音樂學論壇已開始進入籌備工作，本年度學術委員會竭誠敬邀各位學者能貢獻您的研究成果，我們深信論壇將因您的參與更顯豐富和多元。本年度論壇之截稿日期、會議日期與地點如下。

徵稿類別：與音樂學相關領域研究之單篇論文。

凡欲參與會議發表論文者，請填妥附件報名表，撰寫：論文題目、五百字以內摘要（摘要字數若超過規定，將不予受理），及任教學校、最後學歷，或正在就讀校系，於2013年6月1日（星期六）23:59前，以電子郵件方式，主旨請註明｢2013臺灣音樂學論壇報名表｣，寄至：2013musicologytw@gmail.com

審稿機制

1. 所有稿件須通過本年度學術委員會匿名評審。結果將2013年6月30日前於公佈。

2. 入選者並須於2013年9月1日前繳交1500-2000字全文，始得與會發表。未能如期繳交全文者，主辦單位將視同棄權處理。

3. 摘要內容須清楚表達：主要研究論點、與過去相關研究之關聯性、對音樂學研究之貢獻與意義。

4. 錄取者之摘要及全文，將公佈於臺灣音樂學論壇網站：http://taiwanmusicologyforum.blogspot.tw/

CFP: IMS/EA 2013 "Musics in The Shifting Global Order"

SUBMISSION START: Monday, 17 December 2012, 00:00 (UTC+8)

DEADLINE: Thursday, 28 February 2013, 21:00 (UTC+8). To avoid online problems, please submit at least 24 hours before the deadline.

AUTHOR NOTIFICATION: Around 15 May 2013.

PARTICIPATION: Graduate students, independent scholars and faculty are all welcome. An individual may submit no more than one proposal in each category.

PANEL: Among the categories, panels are especially encouraged, in particular those with researchers from different regions/disciplines. The organizer of a panel should act as the corresponding author and submit the proposal as a package that includes the abstracts of each paper as well as a rationale of the whole.

LENGTH: Max. 300 words for each abstract or rationale.

LANGUAGE: English (for the proposal and the presentation). The discussion afterwards, however, is encouraged to be conducted in English and the language of the presenter’s choice.

ENCODING: Only plain text without any formatting.

SUBMISSION: Only online through the following links (accessible during the submission period stated above); submissions by post or by e-mail are not accepted. PLEASE FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS IN THE FORMS CAREFULLY.

Call for Proposals

Inaugurated in Seoul 2011, the East Asian Regional Association of the International Musicological Society (IMS-EA) is pleased to announce its 2nd conference and invite all music researchers working in/on the region (including nonmembers) to submit proposals with the theme:

MUSICS IN THE SHIFTING GLOBAL ORDER


Within the shifting global order, East Asia has been rapidly transforming its status from an object of study to an active producer and promoter of knowledge. While the “West” has established itself since the waves of European colonization as the generator of theories and methods as well as the frame of reference, postcolonial and post-Cold War interactions between East Asia and the West have admitted mutual transformations. Music, a human phenomenon that is unifying yet alienating, transcendental yet mundane, stands inevitably at this critical juncture. Particularly, this conference aims to address these issues:

How has the previous global order ordered, prescribed or organized our musical practices and researches in/on the region? How has the shifting of global order related to certain paradigm shifts in our discipline, e.g. from the epistemology of “the music” to that of “musics”? What musical or scholarly traditions have resisted the shifting, and what new formations have emerged from it?

Conversely, how could our engagement with “musics” possibly shift the global order, and in what directions? Are there examples of making music or doing musicology that do matter to societies and individual lives in the region? What are the challenges and consequences for our institutions?

To embrace diverse approaches, IMS-EA also welcomes new researches beyond the general theme.
Keynote Speaker: Professor E. Taylor ATKINS, Northern Illinois University, author of Primitive Selves: Koreana in the Japanese Colonial Gaze, 1910-45 (2010) and Blue Nippon: Authenticating Jazz in Japan (2001).

Categories

1. Panel Session: 90-min./3-papers or 120-min./4-papers; panels with researchers from different regions or disciplines are encouraged.
2. Individual Paper: 20-minute report followed by 10-minute discussion.
3. Poster/Media Display: A0-size poster or desktop display.
